web site by WordPress: Backup using Import / Export


Wordpress’s import and export tools enable you to backup and restore your wordpress web site. It saves the posts and pages as a XML document. It does not back up media such as images or video, but if those things are still on the internet, it will download them and put them on the internet. It is good for moving things, but I’m not certain that I would use it to back things up. WordPress is a open source content management system (CMS) and popular blogging software. It typically requires Apache, MySQL, and PHP. I can run on other platforms as well such as IIS (Internet Information Services) and Microsoft SQL. It is important to backup and restore your website. YOu want to back it up incase it ever crashes.
